Pouring HOT WATER into this container for 10 min at the minimum is of the utmost importance if you want this to do its job. My son starts school at 8am and eats lunch by 12. He said it’s still really hot that it needs to cool off for a few minutes before he can eat it. He’s a freshmen in high school so this works perfectly. It won’t leak if your child doesn’t swing his lunch box. If they are careful meaning carrying their lunch box like a normal person…it should be fine. I’ve never done soup and not sure if I would. I don’t trust it for that but food…YES! I’d buy this again in a heartbeat!!!!Once it is sealed, it's terribly hard to open back up. Should consider putting a pressure release button so that it won't be so hard to open one the heat seals it.Does not keep food hot/warm.
